Founded in 1984, Vanguard Cleaning Systems has developed a franchise network built around independently owned Area Franchise businesses and independently owned janitorial franchise businesses.
Area Franchisors support janitorial franchise businesses within their markets, while those businesses provide commercial cleaning services to local organisations.
The existing Vanguard network includes more than 2,000 independently owned janitorial franchise businesses, supported through more than 50 independently owned Area Franchise offices in the United States and Canada. Together, these businesses serve more than 15,000 commercial cleaning accounts.

Vanguard Cleaning Systems is seeking an individual with senior corporate leadership experience to own and actively lead a regional or country master franchise in New Zealand. The territory and appointment are subject to agreement.
This is a business leadership and franchise-development opportunity rather than a hands-on cleaning role.
As the owner, you would lead business development and franchise support within your agreed territory, supported by a sales and service team. You would build commercial relationships and support independently owned commercial cleaning franchise businesses.

Identify, assess and support prospective commercial cleaning franchise owners.
Build relationships with New Zealand organisations and help secure suitable commercial cleaning accounts.
Provide guidance, communication and operational support to independently owned franchise businesses.
Oversee functions such as account communication, billing, invoicing and collections within the Vanguard system.
Establish a professional management and support structure capable of developing the opportunity within the agreed New Zealand territory.
These responsibilities broadly reflect Vanguard’s existing Area Franchise model, under which Area Franchisors develop franchise networks, secure commercial accounts and provide administrative support to janitorial franchise businesses.

Vanguard was founded in 1984. The New Zealand partner would begin with an established Area Franchise model, operating framework and experience supporting franchise businesses—rather than having to create every part of the system from scratch.
This is a business-to-business opportunity: developing relationships with commercial customers while supporting independently owned franchise businesses that provide recurring cleaning services.
Vanguard states that its Area Franchise programme can include a defined geographical licence, proprietary software, marketing materials and consultation during the establishment of a regional franchise operation.
The New Zealand owner would focus on business development, franchise support, commercial account management, administration and building a capable team.
As an active owner, you would establish the local management team, develop the franchise network and build commercial relationships within an agreed regional or country master territory.
This opportunity is for a senior leader considering a move into active business ownership. Divisional operators and leaders from adjacent B2B service environments are a priority. Previous franchise experience can help, but is not essential.
You should be prepared to discuss the capital needed to establish the operation, recruit a team and support the business through its launch phase. Financial capacity and readiness are assessed with you during qualification.
We are seeking senior corporate leaders who want to own and actively run a business. Tell us about your operating experience, your interest in ownership and how you would approach the transition.
